After almost a year of teasing his self-proclaimed best and last full-length album, J. Cole released ‘The Fall Off’ on 2nd February 2026 for the world to enjoy.
The rapper, songwriter and producer known as J Cole has been in my ears for many years now and in my opinion, as well as in the opinion of many others, is easily one of the most talented and influential artists of my generation.
The Fall Off was released to solidify this for Cole and was prefaced as being his best body of work to date, as a culmination of his last decade of growth. And, despite these high expectations, the album did not disappoint.
The braggadocious attitude on ‘Two Six’ sets the tone for the album, with ‘SAFETY’ and ‘Poor Thang’ on the first disc being highlights as Cole reflects on his past pivotal years of his life through masterful storytelling and penmanship.
The tone shifts to a more mature and introspective one in Disc 2 as Cole speaks on how he sees himself in the present day. ‘The Fall-Off is Inevitable’ is the standout cut on this disc as his thought-provoking bars yield more wisdom on every listen.
Not only for hip-hop fans, but for fans of music and the art of storytelling, this album is a must listen and a true staple. I’m sure it will be one of the most important albums to come out of the 2020s.

This is the biggest head race (long distance rowing race) in the country, hosting crews not just from the country but the world, in all 375 crews were entered, totalling 3,000 rowers. Whilst I hadn’t really […]
Three weeks ago, over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, three friends and I made our way to Barcelona. A city I’d never visited before and hadn’t heard a bad word about, so I was keen to see what the fuss was about and discover the Catalonian culture. In typical tourist-style we first visited the works […]
