I recently attended the final match of Carlo Ancelotti and Luka Modrić at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. An occasion that will remain etched in my memory. The stadium was at full capacity, with every supporter (opponents included) united in paying tribute to two remarkable individuals who have profoundly shaped the legacy of Real Madrid.
From the outset, there was a deep sense of emotion and anticipation. This match was not solely about the result, but about the celebration of two legends whose contributions have defined an era. The ovations that greeted both men—Modrić on the pitch and Ancelotti on the touchline were deafening.
Following the final whistle, the atmosphere reached a deeply emotional crescendo. Exceptionally crafted video tributes were played on the stadium screens, each capturing the defining moments and enduring spirit of both Ancelotti and Modric. The tributes were powerful, triggering visible emotion across the stands and, most notably, bringing tears to the eyes of Club President Florentino Pérez, a rare moment that reflected the weight of the occasion.
Being part of this farewell was both humbling and uplifting. It was a fitting send-off, not only honouring footballing excellence, but also celebrating the former Ballon D’or Winner and the most decorated manager in the Club’s History.

Exploring how European football clubs have been bought by some of the world’s […]

Most of the time, it is […]

We landed in Hanoi at close to midnight, but wasted no time the following morning visiting the bustling streets of the countries’ capital. The […]
