On 6th April 2025, we had the pleasure of christening my son at the St Mary the Virgin Church in Kelvedon surrounded by close friends and family. Finding the entire morning rather entertaining, my son thankfully took this morning as it was intended, cheerfully taking in the attention, prayers, hymns and even the baptism with water.
The church is a picturesque grade I listed building dating back to the 11th century and hosted by the charismatic Reverand Garwood, the service was better than we could have hoped.
With a buffet and a considerable amount to drink on offer at the Railway Tavern our day was extended, with all those in attendance enjoying a relaxing environment, seated along the river ensuring a joyous day was had by all and there may have been a few heavy heads in the morning.
Looking back now, my family and I could not have wished for a better day and would not change a thing.
