I was recently lucky enough to visit Santorini. A Greek Island based in the southern Aegean Sea famous amongst visitors for its stunning sunsets, whitewashed buildings with blue domes and crystal-clear waters.
Staying in Fira, the capital of the island, I was easily able to navigate my way around using the very reasonably priced and somewhat reliable local bus network. Opting to explore by foot where possible, comfortable walking shoes are a must helping to tackle some of the steep hills and rocky pathways leading to some of the most breathtaking panoramic views across the caldera. For those of you that prefer a more leisurely experience, there are ample boat trips departing from various points on the island to keep you entertained or for others seeking more of an adrenaline rush, Quad Bikes are in plentiful supply to rent.
So, whether you want to explore ancient ruins, sample local Greek delicacy, or sit back and relax with an ice-cold beer on one of the islands famous black sand beaches, Santorini has something for everyone, and I would highly recommend a visit.
