It is found in the jasmine-scented alleys of our old neighbourhoods, the smell of fresh zaatar manakeesh from the local bakery, and in the spontaneous laughter of people getting together. This is a country defined by a warmth that turns strangers into family in an instant. A place where the door is always open and the spirit of the people refuses to be dimmed, no matter how great the challenge.

It’s one of the few places in the world where you can ski on a snow-capped mountain in the morning and swim in the Mediterranean by the afternoon, all within an hour’s drive. Our geography is as diverse as our history, featuring landmarks like the massive Roman temples of Baalbek and the ancient port city of Byblos, which has been inhabited for over 5,000 years and served as the birthplace of the alphabet. Whether you are wandering through the medieval souks of Sidon, standing beneath the thousand-year-old Cedars of God, or exploring the limestone caves of Jeita Grotto, the land itself feels like a living museum where every mountain pass and coastal town tells a story of the many civilisations that have called this place home.

The culture here is built on community and a legendary sense of hospitality, which truly peaks during the typical Sunday family lunch. Generations gather around a table that seems to have no end. It starts with a mezze spread that quickly covers every inch of the tablecloth with small plates of tabbouleh, hummus, and kibbeh, before moving into hearty main courses and endless rounds of fruit and coffee. That same energy fuels our famous nightlife in districts like Mar Mikhael and Gemmayzeh, where the streets come alive every night with music and people.
