Last week I visited Budapest for my birthday where I embarked on lots of tourist activities but also lots of meals out and walking around the brightly lit city. Budapest has been on my list of city breaks for a long time and was nice to finally being able to fulfil that dream, even though the weather was arguably worse.
One of the main highlights of the trip was the day of my birthday where I visited the thermal spas of Széchenyi, where I relaxed all day before heading to a different type of spa which encompassed me being sat in a tub filled with beer salts enjoying unlimited local Hungarian beer on tap which was a very interesting experience. Later on that evening I ate Goulash at a local restaurant and boarded a cruise which went along the river showing all the magnificent buildings that Budapest has to offer, including the government building shown above.
Budapest was a fantastic place to visit I would highly recommend. The food was nice, the people were friendly, and the pints were £2 (HUF 1000), what more could you want! And yes, Charles before you ask, I was accompanied by my girlfriend.

Exploring how European football clubs have been bought by some of the world’s […]
