South African Rand braced for movement

President Zuma of South Africa is facing a private vote of no confidence and faces the prospect of being impeached if it goes against him.

Zuma, in power since 2009, has survived 8 previous votes like this however this is the first time the ballot will be cast in secret.

The Rand has gained huge momentum in the last 24 hours. Expecation for the currency is to strengthen significantly if he leaves but to lose all gains if he survives.
