Each morning I hear my alarm clock going off. The unexpected but at the same time expected sound that takes me from the dreamland to the real world to start my daily routine. Getting ready to go to work, making breakfast for the family, helping the kids with their uniforms and lunch boxes and a kiss for my hubby. But before any of that, there is one thing that I need to kick off the day with and that is a nice, rich and smooth cup of coffee. I really cannot start my day without it!
As a Colombian woman and a coffee lover I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some highlights about our Colombian Coffee. Colombian coffee is widely regarded as one of the best coffees in the world, and it is known for its rich flavours and aroma, which has made it a favourite among coffee enthusiasts around the world.
The unique taste of Colombian coffee is due to its high-quality beans, which are grown in the country’s ideal climate with high altitude, ample rainfall and rich soil for coffee cultivation. The majority of our coffee beans are grown in the region known as “Eje Cafetero” which is mainly formed by the departments of Tolima, Caldas, QuindÃo and Risaralda. These beans are carefully harvested by local farmers, who have been perfecting their craft for generations. They use traditional techniques to ensure that every bean is of the highest quality, resulting in a coffee that is rich, smooth, and full-bodied. The variety of coffee that is cultivated in Colombia is “Arabica”.
Another reason why Colombian coffee is a favourite is because of the country’s commitment to sustainability and ethical farming practices. Colombian farmers are known for their dedication to preserving the environment and using sustainable farming methods and manual recollection, which not only ensures the quality of the coffee but also benefits the local communities.
So the next time you’re looking for a cup of coffee, consider reaching for a bag of Colombian beans and experience the magic for yourself.

As such, it’s the perfect backdrop to the Xterra Ultra, a 50km trail race circumnavigating the island which features every year on my running […]

When I first told my colleagues that I am travelling to Panama, they all seemed a bit shocked. Why would a Compliance Officer want to visit a country famous for its historic compliance issues? Back then, I didn’t have a precise answer, but a ‘why not?’. Well, now I have a few more words to […]
