As we continue to move through these colder months, I think we all reflect on when we were “too hot” while abroad. For me, this meant reflecting on last summer when I had the pleasure of travelling around Thailand for just shy of 6 weeks. A place known for its natural beauty, cultural attractions, and food. I’ve been fortunate enough to go to Thailand before but the two friends I travelled with were blown away by how different the culture was.
Over the course of 40 days, we managed to get ourselves around to 12 different places from as north as Chiang Rai to as south as Koh Phi Phi Lee. Travels between these places were hot, uncomfortable, and tiring, but always worth it. The destinations were all breathtaking in their own way. The best of the 12 for me was Phi Phi Islands. Trips to Monkey Island and seeing Maya Bay made Phi Phi for me unforgettable. In our evenings we spent time meeting and exchanging stories with new people and enjoying music.
After many wholesome activities and hungover mornings, it was time to head back home. 15 hours of travelling later, we arrived back home. Greeted in Gatwick with mediocre weather, and immediately I wanted to go back. Reflecting on the memories made while abroad made me remember how lucky I was to be able to do it. To anyone considering going I highly recommend it.

I am particularly fascinated by real-life stories as they provide insight into the journeys that people have taken to become who they are today, including the challenges they faced […]
Ah, New Year’s Eve in London- the one night of the year where £3m is spent to fill the city sky with a perfect symphony of light and sound. Yes, it was cold. Not just “oh, better wear a scarf” cold, but “I can’t feel my toes or hands or face” cold. And there I […]
