The Audi Quattro Pairs Golf Cup 2005

SGM-FX are proud to announce that the SGM-FX team comprising two invited clients recently won through to the UK Final of the highly prestigious Audi Quattro Pairs Golf competition held at Turnberry on October 4th-5th 2005.

Peter Urquhart, MD of Underwater Lights Ltd and Craig Ormiston, MD of The Lapa Company, pictured right, were one of three pairs to win through from a regional semi-final held recently at Hanbury Manor in Hertfordshire.

The event is organized annually by Audi. SGM-FX were invited to compete through our relationship with Audi as one of the luxury brands associated within our Limecard partnership.

Our guys put up a valiant fight and were in contention right up to the 16th hole to win though to the World Final in Arizona. Sadly, with the Scottish West Coast wind starting to play its part they found, in succession, the brook and a bunker of somewhat imposing height/depth that rapidly put paid to their chances!

They still finished with a highly creditable 37 Stapleford points behind a winning score of 44 and Craig would have easily won the longest drive competition on the 18th if only his ball had stayed on the fairway…

The event was completed by a Gala Dinner at the stunning Westin Turnberry Resort Hotel splendidly organized by the Audi events team and where our players had been staying in some style.

A case of so near yet so far but sometimes it is indeed better to journey than to arrive and our clients certainly will remember their experience for some time to come. Team SGM we salute you!
